Chapter 8 Sweet Payback.

Ever since Ta Chi poured his heart out to me, he had stuck to me like glue.

Whenever I showed even the slightest hint of impatience, he’d fall dead silent and just stare at me, his eyes rimmed with red as if he were on the verge of tears.

I was completely powerless against that look, so I had no choice but to resign myself to this “sweet burden.”

—

Things at Tuong Corporation were progressing smoothly.

Dad Tuong gradually began to trust my abilities, assigning me high-profile projects well beyond my pay grade.

I performed so impeccably that even he was stunned.

I had originally anticipated a long, drawn-out battle to outmaneuver Minh Chau, but she ended up digging her own grave.

Desperate to prove her worth, she secretly met with a rival company to pull off a “power move.”

Instead, she walked right into their trap, nearly driving Tuong Corporation over a financial cliff.

If the Ta family hadn’t stepped in to bail us out, the business would have collapsed.

Thanks to that crisis, I suddenly became the company’s ultimate trump card, and Dad Tuong took it upon himself to personally mentor me.

Having worked my way up from the very bottom, my grip on the reins of management was absolute.

It didn’t take long before I cemented my position as the undisputed power player at Tuong Corporation.

—

After Ta Chi and I officially visited his mother, the rest of the Ta family embraced me with open arms.

Our wedding was planned down to the smallest detail, everything pulled off to absolute perfection.

On the day of the ceremony, standing side by side with Ta Chi, we made a stunning pair.

Minh Chau made an appearance, clutching Chu Minh Kiet’s arm, a venomous smirk plastered across her face:

“Do you really think Ta Chi has no idea why you got with him in the first place?”

She sneered, “Take a guess, if he finds out the truth, do you think this wedding will even happen?”

Before the words had fully left her mouth, Ta Chi stepped up to my side and clasped my hand in his, his gaze calm, cool, and unshakable:

“Sorry to disappoint you, but I knew everything right from the start.”

Minh Chau froze in place, utterly dumbfounded, while Chu Minh Kiet scrambled to bow and butter up to Ta Chi.

Embarrassed by her pathetic display, Chu Minh Kiet dragged her away before she could make more of a fool of herself.

—

That night, I sat up reading through our wedding gift registry, unable to stop smiling.

My fingers casually trailed up from Ta Chi’s cheek, skimming over his collarbone before settling against the firm, warm contours of his abs.

Damp strands of his hair brushed lightly against my skin, sending a subtle shiver through me.

“Are you trying to seduce me?” he rasped, his voice dripping with gravel.

Ta Chi caught my hand, stroking my fingers with tender affection:

“Tuong An… did you ever fall for me? Even just a little?”

I looked up to meet his eyes, catching the faint hint of vulnerability hidden deep within them.

Wrapping my arms around his neck, I let out a soft chuckle: “Of course I did, you idiot.”

His gaze darkened instantly as he wrapped his arms tightly around me.

The moment my back hit the mattress, I tugged hard on his necktie, pulling his lips down to meet mine in an eager kiss.

【Aaaaa, black screen again!】
【I demand the censors lift the blackout right now!】
【Alright guys, pack it up, this couple is officially endgame! On to the next pair!】

THE END.
