Chapter 7 Confession.

The next morning, Ta Chi suggested that I move in with him.

I didn’t turn him down.

We’d already slept together more times than I could count anyway, so there was no point in playing shy or coy now.

At first, I braced myself for him to torment me to get some petty revenge out of his system.

To my surprise, Ta Chi turned out to be the ultimate house husband in the most literal sense.

He was a total germaphobe who hated having strangers in his space. Because of that, he cooked every single meal himself.

The first time I tasted his cooking, only one thought crossed my mind:

*This marriage was worth every damn penny.*

Not to mention… when it came to certain other bedroom activities, Ta Chi and I were frighteningly compatible.

—

As we were turning in for the night, he murmured softly in the dark:

“Will you come visit my mom with me tomorrow?”

I blinked in surprise, then answered with rare earnestness:

“Of course. That’s the right thing to do.”

The hard lines of his face visibly softened. Wrapping his arms around me, he buried his face into the crook of my neck.

His warm, ragged breath puffed against my sensitive skin, sending a subtle shiver straight down my spine.

*Is this guy… intentionally trying to seduce me right now?*

【Haha, Tuong Xiao’an, you hit the nail on the head!】
【Look at how red his ears are! You can’t tell me he doesn’t have an ulterior motive!】
【Our boy Ta Chi is getting way too good at bringing out the charm.】

I put on a stern face and pushed him off, turning my back to him.

“I’m going to sleep. Good night.”

As I slowly drifted off toward dreamland, I could still feel the heat radiating from behind me, a chill mixed with the pulse of a wildly racing heart trying desperately to stay in check.

—

I successfully secured my place at Tuong Corporation.

My father assigned me to the position of assistant to the general manager. I didn’t object, quietly plunging straight into the work.

It wasn’t long before I started showing real results.

The GM, Ma Tien, was a mature, grounded, and thoroughly professional man. Working directly under him, I learned more than I ever expected to.

Minh Chau had joined the company before me as my father’s personal assistant.

One standing right beside the CEO, the other serving as a mid-level manager’s subordinate from the outside, anyone would think my father was blatantly favoring her.

I saw it completely differently.

Being a subordinate was hard work, sure, but I was able to learn infinitely more… and position myself to choose my own allies for the future.

Ma Tien was far from a bad choice.

So when he invited me out for dinner, I readily agreed.

We had a great conversation over the meal. Ta Chi’s name kept flashing across my phone screen, but I simply powered the phone off to avoid the distraction.

After dinner, Ma Tien dropped me off at the apartment building. I hadn’t expected Ta Chi to be waiting right by the entrance.

The second Ma Tien drove off, Ta Chi grabbed me by the wrist, his voice dropping an octave into a low growl:

“You ignored my calls because you were out having dinner with *him*?”

I furrowed my brow in annoyance.

“Ta Chi, don’t you think you’re overstepping?”

“We’re married in name only. At absolute best, we’re… glorified friends with benefits.”

“You don’t even like me, so why the hell do you care so much?”

His face darkened into a terrifyingly cold scowl.

“We are legally married, Tuong An. What exactly are you trying to do with another man?”

“Or is a single man… still not enough for you to play around with?”

I looked at him, feeling a strange mix of amusement and bitter irony.

“Is that really the kind of person I am in your eyes?”

My eyes flicked past him toward that starship scale model, Minh Chau’s gift sitting near the entryway.

I let out a harsh, mocking laugh.

“You still don’t get why I came after you in the first place, do you? It’s because Tuong Minh Chau was head over heels for you. I wanted to hurt her, so I bought you out.”

“I just wanted to watch her break down in agony. And guess what? I got exactly what I wanted.”

I stepped closer, lightly tapping his cheek with my palm, my tone dismissively soft:

“To me, you were nothing more than a tool for revenge. Got it?”

I spun on my heel to walk away, but Ta Chi slammed his hand forward, holding me in place.

“I know.”

His voice was hoarse, trembling with raw emotion.

“I knew it right from the very beginning.”

“I just couldn’t stand the thought of you going to someone else… so I agreed to it.”

I froze in my tracks.

He raised his head to look at me, his eyes bloodshot and gleaming with unshed tears.

“Tuong An… no matter how you are, good or bad… I still fell for you.”

“You don’t have to like me back. You can play me, you can use me, just please don’t do it with anyone else.”

“Just me. Please… can it just be me?”

I stood utterly frozen. For some unknown reason, the burning anger in my chest evaporated into thin air.

Seeing my expression soften, Ta Chi reached into his coat pocket, pulled something out, and pressed it firmly into my palm.

It felt scorching hot to the touch.

My heart skipped a beat, and a blush instantly flared across my cheeks.

—

Later that night, as I looked at the man before me, wearing a leather choker, blindfolded, obediently waiting for my next command…

I turned into a wild beast poked one too many times, lunging forward to devour him whole.

【Aaaaaaa! He finally confessed everything!】
【Watching him hold back every single day was driving me insane!】
【And what was that item he handed her?! I need the uncensored full chapter right now!!!】
