Ch 2.
Right after I pulled that burlap sack over Jiang Yan’s head and beat him black and blue, I turned around, and ran straight into Lu Yanbai. He was leaning casually against his Maybach, white shirt unbuttoned at the collar, radiating an aura that practically screamed dangerously off-limits.
That night, I made the boldest move of my entire life:
“Mr. Lu, I’m currently looking for a sugar daddy. Interested in taking the job?”
He let out a low laugh, and just like that, we were together. For three whole years, he was my ultimate backer, handing me top-tier roles on a silver platter and keeping all the industry predators at bay. He used to call me a idiot for insisting on doing things the hard way instead of just leaning on him.
Truth be told, Lu Yanbai was a prize worth bragging about. Too bad… he was ignoring me now.
I was currently sprawled out on my bed, shivering with a fever. My phone remained dead quiet, not a single text from Lu Yanbai. Meanwhile, the internet was exploding.
Jiang Yan, that pathetic clown, saw that I was down and decided to jump on the bandwagon. He went live to drag my name through the mud, claiming I’d tried to seduce him and failed, and that I was going crazy because my sugar daddy was about to dump me. The internet mob swarmed in, eager to drag me into the dirt:
“God, this makes me want to puke. And here I thought she was an innocent angel…”
“Literally a homewrecker inserting herself into someone else’s engagement!”
“Lin Wanxing, get the hell out of the entertainment industry!”
Jiang Yan’s cheap shot sent my blood pressure soaring. Fantastic. He just had to walk straight into my line of fire.
Before I dealt with my enemies, though, I needed to handle my “domestic affairs.” I picked up my phone and sent Lu Yanbai one final text:
【Lu Yanbai, feel free to keep playing dead. Just remember one thing: I’m the one who dumped you first!】
The moment it went through, I blocked his number and deleted him everywhere in one clean sweep. Done. Finished. Clean break.
Then, I hit the live stream button.
The viewer count skyrocketed instantly, the chat scrolling so fast with insults it was a total blur. I rested my chin on my hand, looking into the camera with a shockingly sweet smile.
“Hi everyone, I’m Lin Wanxing. No sales pitches today, and no tearful justifications. I’m simply here to talk some heavy-duty shit.”
“Oh, and by the way, if I suddenly turn up dead after this, please call the police. I am under no circumstances suicidal.”
Once the viewer numbers hit a record peak, I raised my blade straight at Jiang Yan:
“Let’s talk about Jiang Yan first… Honestly, his fans must have kicked an orphan in a past life to get stuck with him. He regularly sleeps with fans, throws wild orgies, and because I turned down his attempt to cast couch me back in the day, he’s out here fabricating rumors.”
I smirked at the camera, my eyes flashing with pure disdain.
“With a face like his… if I could actually bring myself to swallow that, cosmetic surgery clinics across the country might as well close up shop.”
The chat instantly went wild: “HAHAHAHA,” “She’s burning him to the ground!” “I’ve never seen a celebrity drag someone so viciously live!”
I rolled my eyes. “What’s so funny? The real show is just getting started.”
With Jiang Yan dealt with, I opened the list of industry figures who had liked his posts. My rule was simple: if I wasn’t having a good day, nobody else got to sleep peacefully either.
Actor Chen (the “innocent sweetheart”): Forced his girlfriend into three abortions, absolute master of psychological abuse. I propose revoking his human license.
A-Lister Chu (the “gentleman”): Loves a good group chat swap, with a very specific taste for male fans.
Starlet Gu (the “pure angel”): Secretly birthed two kids overseas, different dads, same mom.
Veteran Actor Zhao (the “nation’s husband”): Took side-chicks number three and four to Thailand for a trio while his pregnant wife was stuck at home.
Film Star Li (Mr. “Squeaky Clean”): Switches out a “temporary wife” on every single film set. A dirty floor rag is cleaner than his rap sheet.
The internet completely lost its mind: “The PR teams are probably working their sewing machines until they catch fire right now!”
My phone started blowing up continuously, my manager, my agency, the PR teams of half the industry… I stared at the vibrating screen, then held down the button and shut the whole damn thing off.
Even if the sky fell today, nothing was stopping me from going completely nuclear. If the male leads in web novels get to use cheat codes, why can’t I? I’ve taken screenshots of everything, don’t think un-liking the post is going to save you!
Right at the peak of the chaos, hired internet bots started spamming questions about my relationship with Lu Yanbai, trying to corner me. Did they think I was scared? Please. I’d been dying to blast him anyway.
I rested my chin on my palm and let out a relaxed, lazy smile.
“Lu Yanbai? Yeah, we dated. Honestly, he was nothing special.”
“He’s an ex now. And for the record… I’m the one who dumped him.”
The chat froze instantly. Then I delivered the kill shot:
“I mean, it’s no big deal. He’s just getting up there in age… and his skills in bed were pretty subpar.”
“Going forward, I’ll probably stick to college guys. Young, obedient… and most importantly, stamina for days.”
The collective internet choked on their own spit: “DOES SHE REALISE WHO SHE’S TALKING ABOUT?!” “A top-tier billionaire just got publicly shamed for bad bed performance!!!”
Watching the chat go completely feral, a sudden wave of boredom hit me. The people who deserved a dragging were dragged, and the tea had been spilled. I let out a slow yawn.
“Alright, guys. Time for bed.”
I cut the stream right then and there, ignoring the millions of viewers screaming for me to stay. Talk shit and run, that’s the rule.
The stream had been an absolute madhouse, but the moment it cut off, the quiet in my apartment felt stifling. I was just about to turn my phone back on to take the earful my manager had waiting for me when…
BOOM!
My front door was practically torn off its hinges.
Standing in the doorway was Lu Yanbai. He was wearing a crisp black shirt with his tie pulled loose, his dark eyes brimming with dangerous impatience.
Lu Yanbai strolled inside as if he owned the place, casually tossing his suit jacket onto the couch before backing me into the corner, step by step.
His voice was dangerously low:
“Go ahead… explain it to me. Which college guy were you planning to see?”
