How I Accidentally Married My Stalker

Chapter 1

Chapter 1.

The night before our engagement party, my fiancé received a pregnancy test result.
The name on it… wasn’t mine. It belonged to the “stand-in” he kept on the side—a faint copy who looked barely sixty percent like me.
Panic-stricken, he immediately caught a flight to find his “sweetheart.”
As for me? Thanks to the groom vanishing right before the ceremony, I was left standing alone in front of a room full of guests.
Turned into a total laughingstock in a matter of seconds.
And ironically, the only reason I knew any of this was because of… the stream of bullet comments running across a screen floating in front of my face.
Refusing to believe it, I called him repeatedly.
All I got in return was a single text: “The engagement party is postponed.”
I froze, completely numb.
The screen kept scrolling relentlessly:
【Why doesn’t the male lead just break off the engagement to be with the female lead?】
【Because he can’t bear to let go of his “white moonlight.” But in the end, by trying to have his cake and eat it too, he’ll just end up watching the female lead marry the side male lead and regret it for the rest of his life.】
【Oh, please! The side male lead, Ha Shichen, is a hundred times better than that male lead! A true “youth salvation” trope!】
The name Ha Shichen popped up, catching me off guard.
Wait… you’re telling me the guy I pursued like crazy back in England is actually in love with… a copy of me?
Unacceptable!
That legendary side male lead was none other than Ha Shichen, the very man I had spent months trying to chase down without a single bite.
I had dated all kinds of guys before: the cold and abstinent type, the warm and gentle, the refined, the cute…
Only Ha Shichen seemed to embody every single archetype at once, without a shred of contradiction.
When he rejected me, he was polite yet distant.
When he fed stray cats under the sunset, his smile was as gentle as a spring breeze.
He was like a dense fog, the more you looked, the closer you wanted to get, but no matter how close you drew, he remained forever out of reach.
It wasn’t just his personality.
Everything about the man kept me completely hooked.
And yet he was in love with a stand-in?
I genuinely couldn’t swallow this humiliation!
I dialed his number directly.
Before the second ring finished, he picked up.
I gritted my teeth: “What exactly is going on between you and Lin Zhao?”
The comment section exploded:
【Huh? What kind of plot development is this?】
【Wait, the “white moonlight” only just realized the female lead exists???】
【Oh boy, drama is definitely brewing!】
That’s right, sweethearts, huge drama!
I’m about to show you all what a real comeback looks like.
Ha Shichen was silent for a few seconds before his deep voice came through the line: “She once saved my life.”
Ha! So saving your life means you fall in love with her?
By that logic, if a doctor saves your life, are you going to marry the doctor too?
I swallowed my anger, keeping my tone ice-cold:
“My fiancé is hooking up with your savior, and now he’s abandoned me to run off after her. Tell me, what am I supposed to do?”
The screen went silent for two full seconds before the comments erupted again:
【It’s over, the “white moonlight” actually found out!】
【It’s fine, both the male lead and the side male lead will protect the female lead anyway!】
【This girl is such a vicious, petty drama queen! Write her off already!】
【Wait, if you really look at it, isn’t the “white moonlight” the actual victim here?】
【Conclusion: She hasn’t done anything wrong.】
Ha Shichen remained silent for a moment longer before asking softly: “What do you want?”
I smirked: “Since my fiancé is gone, you owe me a replacement. You let me lose face like this, and the consequences are severe.”
The comment section nearly crashed the server:
【Wait wait wait, since when were these two so close???】
【The “white moonlight” is thick-skinned as hell, using the female lead like a bargaining chip?】
【If I were Ha Shichen, I’d kick her to the curb right now!】
【If Ha Shichen actually agrees to this, I’ll livestream eating a whole kilogram of…】
A second later, Ha Shichen replied: “Okay.”
…
【I literally can’t believe my eyes!!!】
【Hey, where’s the person who just said they’d eat a whole kilogram?】
【Probably washing vegetables to prep a pot of stink-tofu hotpot! I’ve got my camera ready waiting!】
To avoid any extra trouble, I decided to act first and announce later—taking Ha Shichen straight to the registry to get married.
Luckily, under Ha Shichen’s management, the Ha family had made a powerful comeback, transforming from the brink of bankruptcy into a force to be reckoned with.
Not only did the Ha family lose nothing by having him marry me, but they agreed with absolute delight.
If anything, they used the opportunity to throw shade at the Lu family, along the lines of: “If you’re marrying off someone else’s daughter, shouldn’t you be giving back a little something in return?”
Business is business, after all—full of ups and downs.
On our wedding night, Lu Tsewei called me dozens of times. Just looking at the screen, I could practically feel his rage radiating through the phone waves.
The moment I pressed answer, his voice came through, gritting out every single word: “Qiao Sheng, I never said I was canceling the engagement! How dare you make a decision like that on your own?!”
I raised an eyebrow slightly.
“You ran off to find your mistress right before our engagement night. I was just being kind enough to step aside so you and her could be together. Am I supposed to be in the wrong here?”
He paused, his tone dropping lower: “She’s just… a stand-in for you. Why do you have to be so petty about it?”
“I’ll explain everything clearly when I get back. The alliance between our two families isn’t a game. Be good and listen to me.”
I let out a cold laugh: “Lu Tsewei, who do you think you are to tell me what to do?”
“You were nothing more than a business partner. Don’t go thinking I love you so much that I’d get on my knees and beg you to make me your main wife.”
“If you’ve got a problem, go get yourself checked out.”
“Qiao Sheng!” he roared into the phone.
I calmly hung up.
The comment section exploded:
【Honestly, listening to the white moonlight chew people out is so cathartic!】
【He’s been riding high for years, how does it feel getting slapped in the face for the first time?】
【Wait, is anyone else noticing how insanely sexy that lace nightgown is? Suddenly a whole necklace just flew right onto my neck!】
【Is the white moonlight really this gorgeous? But… are we just going to ignore the fact that she’s going to go against the female lead later?】
【Hey, to be fair, she didn’t do anything wrong to begin with. Getting dumped for a literal stand-in—who wouldn’t snap?】
If I hadn’t been reading these comments, I wouldn’t even have known that… I had apparently been the “white moonlight” in Lu Tsewei’s eyes for all those years.
While I was studying abroad, he had gone out and found a “bootleg copy” who looked sixty percent like me.
Who would have thought that a woman meant to be nothing more than a temporary distraction would actually end up winning his heart?
And thus began whatever “obsessive pursuit of the unforgettable wife, intertwined with love and hate” storyline this was supposed to be.
Did he seriously think I was just a pawn in his little game?
Ever since I was little, I’ve been beautiful and accomplished, with suitors lining up like weeds on a roadside.
As for Lu Tsewei, to be completely honest, I never really had much of an impression of him.
Choosing him as an alliance partner was purely because his family background was a good match.
Did he really think he was irreplaceable?
Looking up, I saw Ha Shichen walk into the room.
He had just taken a shower and was wearing a dark gray bathrobe, the belt tied loosely around his waist to reveal a firm, toned midsection.
A flawless physique, every movement radiating a lazy, high-bred elegance.
As expected of the man I chose—worth every single penny of the investment.
Yet Ha Shichen merely cast a brief glance my way before remarking nonchalantly: “Get some rest. I’ll sleep in the guest room.”
Me: ???
I was literally just about to unfasten my dress?
Just as I was about to call him back, his phone rang.
No guessing needed—it was the female lead, Lin Zhao.
The comments flared up once more:
【It’s useless even if the white moonlight forced the side male lead to marry her, he’s still saving himself for the female lead!】
【Nah, I think the side male lead is acting a bit suspicious already~】
【That glimpse just now was so obvious, damn, he looks delicious!】
【Hey, stop teasing us!】
【White moonlight, please show no mercy! Show me the cock… I mean, show me the good stuff!】
Me: “…”
